TileImpact was founded on a family legacy of craftsmanship and a deep appreciation for the art of tile. Founder Sean Funston grew up working alongside his father in the tile trade, spending summers and holidays learning the value of hard work and how quality is built, one tile at a time.
He took a break to study Animal Science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, but after graduating, he realized that his heart was still in the trade. He returned to work with his dad and rediscovered his passion for building with his hands and creating something lasting.
In 2007, Sean followed in his father's footsteps and started TileImpact—not just to install tile, but to build a company where people could grow. His goal was to create a workplace that empowers individuals, both in technical skill and personal development.
That vision still drives the company forward today. Sean’s commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and continuous improvement is reflected in every project and every team member. By implementing Paul Akers’ 2-Second Lean philosophy, we’ve created a culture of daily learning, efficiency, and teamwork—where every person is seen, supported, and appreciated.
Our mission is to impact the lives or our customers and team members by delivering high-quality tile installations and services with the most satisfying and enriching experience -one client, one team member, one job at a time.
Our vision is to become the leading force in the tile industry by consistently driving innovation and nurturing our team's growth. We aim to empower our team members and foster enduring partnerships, one space at a time.

At TileImpact, we’ve embraced Paul Akers’ 2-Second Lean as a core part of how we operate. It’s a simple idea with big impact: small, daily improvements that make our work better, faster, and more efficient over time.
Every morning, our team gathers for quick, focused meetings to spot waste, share improvements, and streamline how we work. Inspired by Paul Akers’ approach to lean thinking, this habit has helped shape a culture of growth, teamwork, and quality shaped by everyday improvements.
As Paul Akers says,
“Fix what bugs you.”
It’s a simple mindset, but one that fuels innovation, ownership, and real change across everything we do.
